Dal Fry tastes best with Jeera Rice. <br /> <br />Ingredients: <br /> <br />1 tbsp Oil <br />1 tbsp Butter <br />1 tsp Mustard Seeds <br />1 tsp Cumin Seeds <br />3 Dry Red Chillies <br />15-20 Fenugreek Seeds <br />1 tbsp Ginger Garlic crush <br />15-20 Curry Leaves <br />1 Onion, chopped lengthwise <br />1 Tomato, finely chopped <br />1 Cup Tur Dal <br />2 tbsp Moong Dal <br />2 tbsp Masoor Dal <br />1/4th tspTurmeric Powder <br />1/4th tsp Asafoetida <br />1 tbsp Mix Masala <br />1 tbsp Cumin Seeds Powder <br />1 tbsp Coriander Seeds Powder <br />Water <br />Salt to taste <br />Coriander Leaves <br /> <br />Method: <br /> <br />- In a pressure cooker, cook all the pulses (Tur Dal, Moong Dal & Masoor Dal) together by adding turmeric powder and asafoetida. Remove it in a bowl and keep it aside. <br />- For the tadka, in a pan heat oil & butter. <br />- Add mustard seeds, cumin seeds, dry red chillies, fenugreek seeds, ginger garlic crush, curry leaves & coriander leaves. Saute everything well. <br />- Add chopped onion, tomato & salt. Mix everything well. Cover it with a lid for 5 minutes and let everything cook. <br />- In the pressure cooked dal add little water and mix well. <br />- Then add mix masala, cumin seeds powder, coriander seeds powder & salt. Mix well. <br />- Add this dal mixture to the tadka. Add little water and mix well. <br />- Add coriander leaves and give a stir. <br />- Cover it with a lid and let the dal simmer for 5 minutes. <br />- Garnish it with a dollop of butter and serve hot.
